Post your DC connection speed!

Redirect your DC browser here:
http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1 or any other bandwidth testing website. I'm curious what people are getting for connection speeds with the various methods to connect the DC. I just tested mine with XDP browser. With my linux PC-DC server I'm getting 16kbps with 602ms response time. Which is of course pretty awful.
Here is another website to use:
http://homepage.eircom.net/~leslie/test ... stlrge.htm
This site says I'm getting 15920bps or 15.92kbps
This site is extremely accurate and works on DC:
www.mobilespeedtest.com/bandwidthmeter/meter.php
It shows 24.31mbps on my laptop and 18.60kbps on dreamcast in case you are in doubt.
BTW, websites designed for mobile browsers work great with the DC.

BBA, this network:
With that link, 100k test, i get:
46 kbit/sec
0.308s latency
17.359s d/l time
Which.. doesnt seem really accurate to me

Well to be fair though, the dreamcast is going to be much slower than your PC even with an extremely reliable bandwidth test. Its hardware came out in 1998 and its a game console.

yeah yeah but that much? im surprised anyways its no big deal, since anyways theres not a lot you are able to do with that bandwidth..

THE bba can have up to 100mbs connection. It should be at your broadband speed. By the way that site can't even see my speed because it downloads too fast. for bba you have to use something else.

BBA is limited by the transfer rate of the DCs storage/memory which is its RAM and VMU card.

The RAM runs at 100MHz (if I recall correctly, its been a while since I've actually looked into it though) on a 64-bit bus (which also supports burst transfers), which would give you more bandwidth than 100mbps would ever use. That said, G2 (the bus which the BBA is on) is not quite as fast as the main bus, but it is still fast enough to do at least 100mbps in transfers (also, you can do burst transfers to and from main RAM via DMA on G2 as well).
Simply put, with the proper code, you should be able to push out that much stuff on the bus itself, even with how crappy G2 is.
The VMU has nothing to do with anything in calculating the max bandwidth.

Well if all thats true then someone with BBA should be able to match their PC's connection speed, which i highly doubt is going to happen.

You need the right browser he said.

Well im definitely not able to. Youve seen the results with the same speed test and, from obviously the same location (network) and the results from the dc and pc are REALLY different.
You say the dc buses may handle 100 mbit, but you should also consider the software, in this case, XDP. I dont think it was coded to handle that much bandwidth. And i dont think theres any browser made for the dreamcast for that.
