Religion - The After Life

Post by TeamXlink »

Do you believe in the after-life?

Does it lessen a fear of death, or give you peace of mind?

What is it to you, reincarnation, heaven soul wondering, etc?

I am curious.

Also for the Atheist's, do you think there is something after death, in a non religious way?

Thank you.

I dunno & really don't care, life is hard enough as it is on this rock, no need to waste your life on thinking bout something that might or might not be when you die.

if somethings there, I'll deal with it when I get there, if not; all the easier

Wise words.

I was religious when I was very young until I was a teenager. I guess I formed my own opinion after school shoved evolution down our throats, and I became addicted to PBS, Discovery channel, science channel and History channel. :D

When I was little I wanted to be a paleontologist, then an archeologist. I find my evidence in the ground for where we come from. I find no reason to believe that in this day and age, we should hold onto primitive thoughts or beliefs that we came from a "magical farytail".

Religion was mans way of explaning the universe when we were still living in caves, we are a space faring species now, and many of our kind can't see the truth when it stares them in the face.

My family gets mad at me for believing what I do, but my younger brother listens to me when he has questions, and I try not to belittle him or say it is wrong to believe in god, that is not my place to tell him that. If he wants to figure it out on his own then he can.

All I can say to you is that you need to make up your own mind. Don't let others tell you "This or that is wrong or right", it is all up to you cowboy. ;)

As for when we die, I DO however believe that humans are such complex creatures that we may exsist in some form or another after we die. Science tells us that matter doesen't go away, it only changes form, couldn't that also be possible with our conscience or essence? Could be that we just change form or something because of our higher brain capacity than other creatures.

Ok, end of rant, I hope I got you thinking and didn't offend anybody else in the process. :P

I'm agnostic. I was raised Baptist but when I was 14 or so I started thinking for myself. I always loved history, archeology, and science. Religion doesn't hold up too well against history, archeology, and science.

If I don't believe in Bigfoot, UFOs, or the Loch Ness Monster because of lack of evidence then I can't believe in Jesus for the same reason.

I agree,

when i die everything in my head will be gone, all my feelings, thoughts, memories ect... ect...

GONE Forever!! 100 years is a long time for humans but nothing for the earth. who knows what kind of beasts roamed the earth long before us humans...
