For those who have felt an arcade stick and the DC controller for fighting games, which do you prefer? I bought a Agetec Arcade stick and really like using it, but I find that I'm am a better fighter when using the DC controller. One thing I like about it is the DC's D-pad, one of the best D pads I've ever used. What do you guys think....

I've found myself enjoying a madkatz (6 button) controller for fighting games (mvc2). That controller is although not too good for anything else, and the d-pad is slightly not lined up strait, so some combos are hard to work (jill juggling).

There is a released "fighting pad" that has the 6 face buttons like the saturn & genesis pads, but I neither have one, nor really want one (no one will play vs me any more, just the cpu  ).

I honestly rarely play fighting games on the dreamcast anymore, other than maybe powerstone, spawn & heavy metal (although that is in my opinion not the same as "fighting vs" games that an arcade stick is ideal for). That is a game genre that I "evolved with" as newer consoles came out (for example, I'm thinking about finally buying a ps3 for mortal kombat 9).

In the past I've used the total control 3 + saturn virtua stick for some fighting games, it was ok but I didn't grow up with fighting games as my focus in the arcades. This is although an awesome combo.

The only time I consistently use an arcade stick is for shoot-em-ups (triggerheart & other huge list of games here).

I have the DC saturn pad, Ascii Pad FT. It goes for like $50 on ebay, and I got it in a package with a DC, two official japanese lightguns, the agatec arcade stick, and a bunch of games for like $90. Not a super great deal, but it was all stuff I wanted and the arcade stick alone usually runs around $50, so all in all I was happy.

I have the most fun playing with the arcade stick. I am better with the FT pad however, as I find the dpad to be more accurate for pulling off moves than the arcade stick. It is a lot of fun playing 1v1 with one person using the pad and one using the arcade stick. Both control great for shooters, where I think the arcade stick has a bit of an edge.
