huh? the myth was that the ones made after not before. the myth went something like this. to stop piracy Sega released some kind of update that would prevent the use of CD-Rs. how ever it is still bull shit. so far i have not seen a single Dreamcast that can't play CD-Rs

1. Here's a less specific one: playing cd-r's (burned games) will damage your dreamcast GD-ROM drive/laser/motor/?????!?!?!!!.

Simon Jeffery is a pathetic condescending rich mans son who has no people skills nor intellectual innovation what so ever.

2. Smith - Yes, suits are not real people. It's like a billionaire trying understand why people can't afford new cars every year and what unemployment really is. Creativity comes from players and/or fans.

3. Funny stuff, Impulse! I believe Simon Jeffrey is still laughing about that "Sega will make another Dreamcast" thing...mostly when cashing his check!

4. Sega could care less if we feel "Humbugged" by them, mazonemayu (lol)!

5. TheCoolinator said it short and sweet, Simon Jeffrey should have been shown the door.

6. Gary_b, Radkin and I have come to the same conclusion, I have not seen a DC that has not played a CD-R.

I think that whole rumor was probably put out by Sega themselves to stop piracy.

There is also the myth that CD-R's make your Dreamcast break because it wears out the lazer. This is also hogwash.
