yes, a handful of games can be played over the net using direct dial.

Search for a site called the netlink league
It is very important to note - the games are NOT "online" but direct dial over a phone line. It has to be an old analog phone line as well, as the conversion from digital to analog in current generation cable phone lines will cause lag in the games.
I have a setup and a few games, and enjoy it on occasions. I prefer bomberman over the other games, personal favorite

How bad is the lag with a digital phone? I'm just curious because i have a netlink &modded Saturn. I've only used the browser with it so far though. I haven't tried playing any games over a phoneline yet. One thing I've wanted to try though is hooking it up to my phone line simulator and doing local play between 2 saturns.
