Best way to download saves onto memory card?

Hi there, I'm late to the Dreamcast business, so forgive me if this has already been answered. :D

I see saves in the form of DCI files posted on GameFAQS and I want to get them onto my Dreamcast memory card. I bought a Nexus 4 MEG card, but unfortunately the software it uses to interact between your computer and controller was written in 2000 and will never work in Windows 7/Mac etc.

Is there a better way to get saves onto the memory card? I don't have a dial-up connection, so I can't do that. Maybe something using the DC serial port? A newer program to interact with Nexus? Or some other slick method I'm not aware of?

Yeah, that would be awesome! Unfortunately, the Nexus card connects via Parallel cable and Virtualbox doesn't have Parallel support. :(

If my laptop has a wireless connection, can I connect it to the Dreamcast to act as a server? Or does it have to be ethernet?

Yea your best bet is to find and older computer. I had one of those cards and the hardest part for me was finding a computer with the nexus's serial connector, its pretty dated.

I did hear that some nexus cards had a usb cable, but havnt seen one in person.

Best bet? Check out any old public libraries near you - ones near me have computers with windows ME still.

The easiest way is simply to buy a bba, but that is expensive just to download saves... But if you had one you could play online with us :)
