windows 98, virtual machine, model b modem, usb modem?

what do i do with all of these? no i have no power line inducer thing lol.
Get an American model A 56K modem off of a seller on eBay, like I did.
I got my PAL Dreamcast with the right modem, but due to the weak 36K modem I rather paid a dime for the 56K American one than having to go for the inducer. B model modems will DEFINITELY not work without the inducer.
I have yet to connect my Dreamcast though due to the lack of a external PC modem I'm getting soon.
