Hey that's cool. I'd like to have it myself, it all depends on how the bidding goes I guess. I've got a couple of DragonCast cables so I don't really need one but it would be nice to have nevertheless :) .

Why haven't you posted here before ? You must be a true Dreamcast fan - That Yu Suzuki signed manual gives it away ;)

its prolly not gonna sell for too much, its unboxed after all so it has no collectors value

It really depends on the needs of those who are looking for one. I've seen a stand alone cable sell for $170+ usd with many bidders, and a complete boxed one sell for 90$ usd with half as many bidders.

It really depends on who is craving that link setup. Some foolish people build it before they have the cable, then their actual need for the cable goes up and makes them willing to spend far too much on it.

Well, I'm the one buying it... :D

Gonna try to open it up and find out how it works. Hopefully it does not have a COB in epoxy like the Dragoncast cable. If not, I should be able to reverse engineer it. I hope... lol

I don't buy that much Dreamcast stuff anymore, cause I only need 2 more games to complete my mint PAL collection. And I already have a lot of the more obscure stuff too. A white label Flintstones Viva Rock Vegas, 2 Dreamparapara controllers (one boxed) with game. Inflatable morolians, Biohazard S.T.A.R.S. Dreamcast, Seaman merchandising,...

People call me nuts. But I don't care. I prefer collecting this than collecting stamps, or getting wasted every weekend, or gambling, or whatever...

So yeah, there you have it. Cross your fingers. One day we might all be able to play VS games on our Dreamcast without having to sell our liver...

"Yeah, gonna miss you too liver. But you're going to a good home, and I'm selling you for a good cause. Hush now, don't cry. At least we had a good 33 years together. Remember that first joint you had to filter out of my system? Hah, yeah, the good old days. Never forget that. Daddy loved you. Now go, before I start cryin' too. Snort... Bye bye liver..."

I'm reasonably sure that there's really no reason for any strange logic in the middle of the cable. If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say it may be some sort of buffer IC or somesuch shoved in there. The only other thing I could think of that would be in there would be an IC that games use simply to detect the cable itself (which would be a little silly, if you ask me).

The serial port on the Dreamcast is a pretty simple thing to start with. A cross-over cable (with the right connectors, of course) between two systems should be enough to have them talk to each other. The port itself is pretty much wired directly into the SCIF lines on the CPU.

Probably from the Racketboy forums. But your name rings a bell also you know...

I guess we all come across each other's posts every once in a while.

Be it on Youtube watching some random guy dance on the beats of DC Parapara, or eBay, or any other forum... ;) :P

I see my Flintstones copy already found its way on here too. That's my picture... lol
