they hold about exactly (if not a tiny bit more) than a gd-r. im surprised no one has thought to use these for the dreamcast yet. first time i ehard about them was today but they have apparently been out for a long time.

it says only one writer came out but im pretty sure a driver can be written (if not aleady exists) since most burners can handle bluray and dvd, which could have more than one layer.

Do I need a special CD/DVD burner? Never heard of a DDCD-R.

Atreyu gave a good breakdown of this over at the ISO Zone. Basically the massive hurdle would be getting the single burner that supports this disc, and then finding a program that would be compatible with the burner and also supporting multi-session writing.

Here is a place selling the SONY CRX200E http://www.360tech.com/catalog/sony-crx ... 40700.html , But reading the info about the format here http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews ... cleId=6135 doesnt make it sound promising that it would work on a DC. but one can test it out though.

I thought that those used 90/99 minute (overburnable) CDs and not the DDCD format seeing how the DDCD wasnt really compatible with the CD format.
