"NOT ENOUGH SPACE" on formatted card?!

OK, remember my Nexus problem? I went out and bought an old decrepit computer to interact with the card, and it totally recognizes it.

I downloaded a .VCI from Gamefaqs for the game Mars Matrix, which is 3.5 KB. Now, when trying to put it on the card, it says "NOT ENOUGH SPACE." What?? The memory card is completely formatted and has 200 free blocks. How can a 3.5 KB file be too big?

Is there a way to compress the VCI or something? And if that's not an option, where can I buy the 16Meg Nexus card (they're not on ebay)?

hmm, a SEGA VMU stores 100 KB/200 Blocks. This can't be the problem. Which programm and VMU (purple NEXUS VMU?) do you use?

Could you go online with your DC? This would be the easiest way. Dial-up connection, visit BlueSwirl or gamefaqs and download the savegame.

It's a bluish green nexus 4meg card and I'm using DC Linker 2.3 to interact with it. I suppose I could try using an older version of DC Linker...or maybe a different VCI to see if it'll accept any files period.

I wish I could get my Dreamcast online :( My internet is wireless and the router is run by the guy that lives upstairs. I'm not sure if there's a way to get internet to the Dreamcast from a laptop running wireless. Probably not, right?
