Quake III Arena Online - Quick Question

I looked around on a few different sites, including this one, and couldn't really find an answer so I thought I'd just ask it directly: Can more than one person per Dreamcast connect online? (i.e. Could myself and a buddy connect online while using the same Dreamcast, or will it only work for a single person?)
