Wow have things changed!

So yeah, this year in school I had tons of extracurriculars, not to mention honors and AP classes... never had time to visit my favorite forum! So, I'll probably be here for the summer. I decided to pick up a USB modem v9.2 wth voice and fax so I can setup my own PC-DC server :D

So, uh, I've noticed this site and the DC scene in general has changed! I mean a USB adapter? Crazy! Also, I tried to get TuxTheWise's DCRES split release of Sonic Adventure 2, but it seems RapidShare nixed it :(

So what else has changed in the past year or two in the Dreamcast scene? Cool homebrew tools? New indie games? Emulators? Please enlighten me :)

Also, expect to see me on PSO sometime when I get my modem ;)

Well, DUX 1.5 and REDUX: Dark Matters have been announced, and a kickstarter project has been launched. Only 1000 copies of REDUX will ever be made for the Dreamcast. It's not too late to pledge either; if you're interested, you've got 4 days left.

I really wonder why Redux gets so much more attention than Sturmwind. Not just here, but on other forums too. You know, I vowed I would never buy commercial homebrew again. But Sturmwind seriously makes me wanna reconsider that decision. Shit, just look at it...

I only mentioned REDUX because it's a recent development. Sturmwind is kind of old news, and nothing new has come up with it lately.

In the past 1 or 2 years quite a lot of new stuff has happened, indeed.

SD card readers have changed the way many DCers load their games.. New versions of Gens4all and Snes4all have improved 16-bit emulation.. DCRes and similar groups have been re-ripping pretty much the whole DC library with higher quality releases than the old crap from Echelon.. plus the new indie games mentioned above.

Ooh, those indie games look great! Might have to snag one of them, not sure yet which one. Did DCres kick the bucket? I can't get the Sonic Adventure 2 split release :(

I think I'll probably snag an SD card reader; considering using dc-sd.com or something, as it's USA based.

I'll be getting my USB 56k modem and, following one of the guides on this site, set up my Dreamcast to play some PSO :D
