Someone appears to be selling a Half Life beta build for Dreamcast!

Sure is a shame it isn't a later build then the one released though!

???

Of course there were written HL GD-Rs for internal use. And even if there weren't any, someone with a dev kit and writer could make one right now. What is sure is there are no pressed GD-Rs of the game...

The version that is floating around on the internet, got leaked by a Gearbox employee.

This is the 2nd time a HL GD-R publicaly surfaces. Right before HL got leaked there was also a company (forgot the name) that had both HL and Propeller Arena on GD-R, they tried to release those games officially. After HL got leaked they scrapped that idea and sold of both GD-Rs.

I heard rumours that a later version exists and is in the hands of a private collector, I can't remember where I heard that.... Do you think that's true?

It's probably a safe assumption since the game was so close to being finished and there was even a strategy guide made up. There are some people at assembler claiming they saw a PAL retail release before, but I think if that was true that would've surfaced in some pictures at least by now.

Motherfuckers are lying. I asked Gearbox. IT DOES NOT EXIST.

Let that be the end of it...

Okay, chill homeslice.

I'm not half done talking here....

I understand a PAL version doesn't exist as I have worked in videogame retail since the Dreamcast's demise and we never got a sniff of the game, not even at POS stage really, so the boxed product doesn't take a dummy to work out it never happened, however - a white label isn't impossible.

Hello,

A while ago I sent you guys a few questions regarding the Dreamcast version of Half-Life. Unfortunately I never got a reply. I mean, what's the use of a contact button, if noone bothers answering?...

Anyways, I got that refund, since the USPS never got a package with that specific barcode on the dispatch note. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in knowing the real deal about the DC version. I know there's a DC promo whitelabel with a movie clip on it. But I wonder if any full game discs were ever pressed, Pal or Ntsc. Any information regarding previous Dreamcast projects you had would be appreciated. Pretty please?...

Regards,

Chris
Hi Chris -

No full game discs were ever pressed for Half-Life on Dreamcast.

Does that answer your question?...
