I bought my first Wii a couple of weeks ago and am very impressed with it so far. Currently I am enjoying some Sega Gunblade NY action...very nice on a 28" 4:3 CRT via RGB SCART.

Double Strike/240p looking good on Shinobi. :)

I've also managed to connect it an old school PC CRT and 480p looks stunning...here's A Boy & His Blob. Looks better than on my friend's Wii U connected to his 43" HDTV. Then again this is a 'native resolution' screen.

Only downside is my Logic 3 Gamecube Arcade Sticks are incompatible with the Wii (known problem)!

The Wii was a pretty cool console if you bought the right games. I see you already have A Boy and His Blob. :D

I still use a CRT as my main TV (though my iMac enjoys it's 21" lcd screen). I really like using a crt more because I don't have to worry about video resolution as much, and things like my old consoles and VHS tapes still look pretty good on it.

Thanks for replying. I use CRTs as they are cheapest and best way to view 480i/480p/240p. You can potentially get slightly better pictures on modern displays if you use high end scalers and IPS monitors but the advantage is slight (apart from bigger screens).

OK so yesterday I softmodded my Wii and installed Swiss so I can force my Gamecube games to 480p (originals only). Here's the original Wind Waker on my 20" PC CRT, nice and sharp! :D

Of course the HD remake on Wii U is graphically better but as you can see the GC version has nothing to be ashamed of!
