However, every time I attempt to connect to google or any other website it says it can't look up host.Any suggestions

Have you checked to see that you have internet in Linux within VMware?

Yes, I have internet available.I launched the web browser and connected to youtube.I should mention that I am using crunchbang linux in vmware with a pci modem.

Be sure to change all the ip address values to the correct subnet for your network. If your router is 192.168.0.1 then DC, the ms-dns, etc should all be 192.168.0.x.
