Online homebrew games?

If there was an dreamcast homebrew game that had online support (Meaning PvP) would any one play it? The dreamcast community is small enough so if developers(Such as myself) were to create a game with online support via Modem and BBA I don't think the servers would be used much which would be a waste of money and resources however I'm I'd like to give it a shot only if their is enough people who would play the game online. Any thoughts would be great!
Thanks,
Yijral

The only game that I can think of is Doom for DC and that's not really homebrew, just a port... It allows network play through the BBA. You can direct connect to the other player's IP. Info here (links are outdated)

I would even buy a (good) homebrew game with online support!
You would be the first who released such a game.

We host the servers ourselves. Dreamcast-talk and Sylverant both use FreeBSD servers. The DC-Talk Q3 master server, q3 game servers, pso ship server, maximum pool server, 4x4 evolution server, and planet ring server all run on the same machine. The server is physically located in the Eastern US. If you needed somewhere to host your game we could help you out with that.

No worries man, It was probably be me anyway as I'm not too good at structuring sentences. Okay, this is gave me enough hope to get my game project started. It will be a turned based tactics like advanced wars and will have two game modes PvE and PvP via modem.
