As part of a project I started a few months ago to both patch this game, and fix multiplayer. 4x4Evolution.com back online, and will now allow 4x4 Evolution to work without any modifications.

That's great! I assume Terminal Reality allowed you to takeover the domain?

They (what's left of it, I still don't know the true status honestly) were kind enough to redirect the site to an IP of my choice. All unpatched versions of the game can now run online just like they did day one.

However of note gamespy will be going down at the end of the month for good. So you will lose the friends list on both PC & DC, unless we come up with a new solution. We'll likely just strip the option out going forward.

That was cool of them! And we should probably packet log any info we can just in case someone can reverse engineer the friends list feature. Although it's not very useful anymore, but would be cool to have all the features saved from the grave.

This is awesome! Thanks a lot for doing this! It's nice to be able to connect without having to worry about using alternate DNS servers or anything like that.
