Need help online

i have a dc bba but i want to play all of the outer great dc online games and was wondering for any ideas. i live in canada bc and cant seem to find any free dial up (any suggestions would be great 
) and before i pay the 20 bucks to spend on a modem a version is it possible to use a u.s robotics courier 56k business modem to bypass the line voltage problem? thanks to anyone how reads this and a quick question does the jap modem A need voltage. Thanks
