So my last dreamcast's GD-Rom Drive blew out on me. I got a new dreamcast and its working great! Now I want to make sure I get the most out of the one I have now. I've heard that waiting for the drive to come to a complete stop helps. Anyone else have tips for GD-Rom related stuff?

Yamaha drives > Samsung drives
The Yamaha ones are usually present in revision 0 consoles.

Yep!
The only GD drives that are not all compatible with other model drives are the last version of the Samsung Drives found in Revision 2 DC units. They lack a daughterboard on em and attach directly to the MoBo via a ribbon cable -_-
