Question for the modders and/or the tech savy

Where did you learn all that stuff? I want to get started but I don't even know the terminology to start. I'm going to order a practice PCB and some soldering wicks to practice my soldering but I don't even know the basics of electricity. Is this called electrical engineering? anyone mind filling me in? What are some good youtube videos to watch so I can get a better understanding of this stuff. I'm very eager to learn. I have a lot of equipment that I want to open up and mod but I don't even know how to start.
