Was thinking i'd put a blue led and make a pal dreamcast logo replacement sticker (because we all know a pal dreamcast with a blue led is just take my money, led's and paper $10)

But then i figured maybe go even further and change the orange boot logo to blue and have a pretty neat custom dreamcast lol

But is there a software tool to do this? do i need a flasher? And is there a way to change boot without changing the consoles region?

Yes it is possible with region switcher, you can change the boot logo to blue and keep the boot region or change it . It even has a black swirl option if you want lol.
This all requires the region Hard mod, soldering a wire on 2 points under the dc motherboard.
Region switcher comes with Dreamshell now.
You must add a switch if you are going to leave the wire on the mobo after switching regions because alot of games write to the bios which would flash the bios rendering your dc unusable (black swirl of death). I have done this before, i still miss it lol.

I saw a guide on this, just a little intimidated about taking the wire back off and not correctly replacing the solder. I did that trying to change a resistor in a sega cd and fried the board lol though its just an appearance mod i'd just take the wire off after, dont know how to wire a switch anyway

I like the Dev kit bootscreen all 3d and swirly =D

I feel like the 3d swirl is a bit silly, i like the jingle of the standard (what even sound effect is that?)

Does anybody know the led diameter for the power light?

I'm attempting this and LED swap soon. Does anyone have the guide to do this? I don't really remember where i found the one i saw. Ordering the parts soon and need to know what they are

It's funny because I really want the red/orange swirl. I bought a top shell with the red swirl on there but want the boot animation to be red also. But I haven't found a way without physical mods unfortunately.
