I'm really confused by the information on connecting online with the Dreamcast.
About the PC-DC connection, If your internet is broadband and you're connecting dial up through the other port, is it converting the broadband connection to dial up so it can be used or do you have to have dial up to get online?
My DC is the launch model, so my modem is A, no need for a line voltage thingy, but I'm concerned I'd either have to have dial up to get online or I'd have to get the insanely expensive BBA which doesn't even support most games.

Yes. You dial into the pc modem as if it was a phone then the computer answers and routes the modem to the gateway (router). Essentially a virtual analog router

If you're basing because its a launch model on it having modem A then maybe check the revision number. I attempted pc-dc with rev A modem but ended up needing voltage anyway. And if it does work without, it won't be as fast as it is with voltage. From what i've read Quake 3 with pc-dc and voltage is almost lag free. Though i've never tested that myself
The easier option, even though its not done yet, is a pc-dc using raspberry pi. Pretty much you just put the image on the sd and turn it on

Pretty much you're better off making an inducer either way for speed and a higher likelyhood of it working. It's not as difficult as it seems

But your question was about games, all games/apps support the modem with the exception of doom and temporarily toy racer

I checked my modem and it is an A, I'd really prefer not to use a voltage inducer because it seems complicated to put together (despite it seeming less difficult, it's still mostly out of my reach) I'd just like to play PSO and use a web browser (for laughs)
But it's nice to know I won't have to get dial up or anything like that. Seems like a chore
