The new dreamcast games are released on another type of disc then gdroms right? Are there any compatibility issues to look out for then with new release physical copies?

If you have a PAL or USA Dreamcast then you have nothing to worry about (seeing that until this day no owner has come forward with a console from these regions which doesn't accept "MIL-CD", only a very late and few LE models from Japan have this limitation)
The new releases are released on pressed CD-ROM's (instead of SEGA's proprietary GD-ROMS).
So you can go wild and just order any commercially release indie game out there for Dreamcast

New dreamcast games are released on pressed cd roms not gd roms as sega has discontinued those back in 2008/09, I believe that new dreamcast games use the mill -cd format and apparently some newer dreamcast consoles from late 2000-early 2001 don't support mill cd while others do , I've heard many conflicting stories about the dreamcast's mill-cd compatibility
