VGA cable and adapter

I'm new here so I hope I'm in the right area. I recently dug my DC out of the closet and plugged it in with a composite/hdmi adapter I have but I want to upgrade to a VGA cable. I'm also looking for an upscaler to plug it into the hdmi slot on my tv. I'd prefer one that also has s-video so I can plug my N64 into it as well but I don't know if there are any that have both. Are there any cables or adapters that you guys would recommend over others? (I do know about that xrgb framemeister, it's nice but I can't afford it)
