*Reworded
I read that the Toro vga box can send the 480p vga signal over its scart connection, making it so you only need one cable. I had a cpupke questions about that.
First does it only work with the XRGB Mini or will other devices also work with it? Or will it still work if you just plug it into a scart port on a tv?
Second does the Scart cable still carry sound while in vga mode or do you have to use the rca output then?

1. It will work with other scart updcalers too. Im using a different scaler with my toro.
2. As long as its a euro scart tv
3. Yes scart also carries the audio too and it will output on the hdmi with your scaler or output on your tv

So all that works even when in VGA mode? Awesome, thanks.

There is a switch to flip between VGA mode or Scart Mode.

I know, I was just asking if all that stuff worked while it was toggled to vga with the scart cable in.

Sorry im not sure if understand what you are asking.
If you are wondering if both wotk at the same time do not. Its either the vga + left and right audio outs. Or the Scart cable.
You can have scart and vga pluged in at the same time without them affecting each other but only one can be used at a time.

I think I worded it wrong. I read that the toro box can send the vga signal (480p) over the scart cable since scart has enough pins to carry it, eliminating the need for two cables-

In case of the Toro it's a simple matter of sending a progressive VGA signal over the pins of the SCART connector.
In other words, it uses SCART as a carrier for a progressive VGA signal it's not normally used for.
The shape of the connector doesn't make any difference regarding the signal.
The same principle can sometimes be seen with VCRs and projectors.
My projector takes component signals over the D-sub connector for instance.
I was asking if all that stuff still worked while the 480p was being send over the scart connection.

Yes it does and you are correct that's what makes the toro box so great.

It will look best with a Framemister though vs a cheaper upscaler but even with my cheap box it looks pretty good. But everything should be in glorious 480p with that box.
