DreamPi connection - line busy??

So close to getting online through DreamPi using planetweb 3.0. Dialling in works fine until it disconnects and states 'line busy'. I'm using a raspberry pi v1, PAL console and modem, voice compatible USB modem and a line voltage inducer with 330 ohm resistor and 0.47 uf capacitor. If anyone could give me some advice that'd be much appreciated!!

The pal line inducer needs more power than the US one. IDk if you know about this or not. If you only have one 9 volt battery it probably will not work. Also I think that the dreampi software was written for a v2 raspberry pi. I do not know if that matters or not. someone else might be able to say if it does?
I know that the PAL isp settings are different as well. You have to dial 555 and we do not. what are the DNS numbers that you set up?

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that I have built the PAL specific 18v line inducer! I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that both v1 and v2 of the pi are compatible with DreamPi but it is v3 that isn't.
Regarding my DNS settings I am using 46.101.91.123. Anymore help would be much appreciated!

I also had issues with planetweb earlier today. Have you tried using a game? Just earlier today I had to erase my Dreamcasts internal memory so that I could put my old SN/AK into PSO, anyway Planetweb 3.0 failed to connect but PSO worked great. We had a four player match and it went flawlessly.
At one point Pweb told me my disc was broken because I tried to tell it to connect again. Try a game and see how that goes.
Do you have a link to the modem that you are using? I bought a cheap one from china and it does not work. The Dell Modem that another forum member linked to worked perfect.

I believe the line voltage inducer is at fault here. Someone else had the
same issue. It may be shorted out.

I tried to get online with quake 3 but unfortunately a similar message came up staying the line was busy! In regards to the modem I'm using it is the same one in kazades walk through - it looks very similar to the dell one (also both green lights are on).
Pcwzrd - what do you mean by shorted out? Do you think it's a problem with the resistor - maybe I should buy a higher ohm resistor perhaps?
Thanks for your help btw, hopefully I'll be able to get online soon

Hmm, I will assume that you are using a NTSC copy of quake 3.
You can test the line voltage inducer with a telephone like in the youtube video below. At the end he uses the phone to see if there is a dial tone. Give that a try if you can.

I mean there's a wire touching another wire that it shouldn't be touching. I could be wrong but it seems like the most likely explanation. The resistor and capacitor you have should be fine.

Okay thanks so much for your help - gonna try and rebuild another line voltage inducer tomorrow

A quick thought, the phone cable I used had only a green and red wire whereas other phone cables I have seen in online tutorials have additional black and yellow wires, could this be anything to do with it?
