Just wondering if anyone has been able to figure out how to use a usb keyboard with the Dreamcast.
So far I have found nothing that would support doing it, but I have an idea that I would love to try out.

The Total Control 5 adapter thing lets you use ps/2 keyboards, maybe you can get a ps/2 to usb dongle too but I don't know if it will work
It will also work for ps/2 laser mice I think

Yes, I was able to use an USB to P/2 adapter from Microsoft.

Sweet that will be awesome! and not too hard to get.
Now I just need to find a tiny controller sized USB keyboard, and when I make my Dreamcast portable I can connect it to both the Dreamcast and the Pi (with a switch to chose what system it works with.)

The Total Control 5 will cost you almost as much as to buy an official keyboard. Look at other options (I think sega retro has a comparison of all of the controller adapters. There is one that has 2 PS/2 ports on it (but you can only connect a keyboard OR a mouse, not both

I already picked up the Total Control 5, sadly it didn't work with my ps2 to usb adapter
I'm actually going to be doing this for a mod, so I don't know if the official keyboard would work for me.
But I figured that I can just rewire the PS2 keyboard to a keyboard that I want, and use am adapter to ps2 to connect to the raspberry pi (with a switch to choose between them of course)

CAN EVEN USE A WIRELESS MOUSE / KEYBOARD WITH THE ADAPTERS
Certain wireless mice and keyboards Basic HID compliant ps/2 Will work just fine with the ps/2 adapters. The total5 adapters might not be the best but it works.
I had good luck with Micro Inovations brand wireless mice and keyboards however the cheap old rf sometimes not the best Signal strength or distance but it works well enough for old wireless =)
