Well... it had all the hookups and a Dualshock and it cost me $25 at the local Goodwill.

Greatest console of all time. Massive amount of quality games from every genre. Plus, now it's all dirt cheap.

I don't think you'll have your DC geek card revoked for enjoying a PS2. It's truly silly to miss out on great games because of childish fanboyism.

Need any game recommendations?

Never seen one in my life. I'm sure it's wonderful, but the PS2 brought tons of great gaming to millions and millions of people all over the world. To me, a console's impact on gamers is a true measure of greatness.

The PS3... not so much. :?

Nice find,

There is a lot of good SNK compilations on it and a whole bunch of cool Sega games....like Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast

can't say I entirely agree there; yes, I'm sure it has its fair sshare of great games (I honestly wouldn't know since I never owned a ps2; I went for the other 3 of its gen [sold the xbox again]).

however in the case of the ps2 the so called "greatness & impact" didn't come from its game library or from its hardware (it has its share of raw horsepower, but in every other way its technically inferior to the other 3 of its generation)

the greatness & impact you speak of comes more from the aggressive marketing & the overwelming commercial monster sony used to promote it

that being said, I'm pretty sure that he'll enjoy his ps2, I mean for that amont & every console has its share of decent games so...

And yet, it was because of "childish fanboyism", that the DC failed. There were far too many Sony fanboys that didn't want to give the DC a chance.

And now we are adults (hopefully), so we can enjoy all systems. PS2 and DC are both outstanding systems. There's just MUCH more variety on the PS2 because it was the most successful system ever.

... I'm not a adult ... I'm just 15 ...

... Anyway: My dad opened up the PS2 and within a hour he got it working as new again.

My little bro got a 007 game to try on the Ps2 so we have been playing that.
