Im not really knowledgeable in these things but from what Im understanding it looks like Federation VS Zeon DX is being restored?
If someone who understand this stuff and is smarter than me whats to sift through the random link I ended up at Id love to hear what your thoughts are. It seems like they its planned to be implemented via an emulator (?) Again just my speculation of what Im reading from the github.
Heres the link: https://github.com/inada-s/gdxsv
I can only hope this becomes another step in fully restoring online to the dreamcast!

Yeah Shu emailed me about this a month or so ago. Seems very promising. The video is just showing local play on one PC I believe. He seems to be having major lag issues when playing over the internet with someone. This seems to be an emulator issue. Likely wouldn't be a problem on real hardware but it doesn't seem like he's familiar with playing online via an actual Dreamcast. I'm sure Shu can adapt it for real hardware if he doesn't though.

Re: Someone is restoring Gundam VS Online
If I had any idea about how this stuff worked Id mess with it myself just to see what it runs like but I wouldn't even begin to know how to recompile this stuff into anything usable.
If nothing else Im sure the work he's made on figuring out portions of KDDI will prove useful long term.
The Dreamcasts future still looks bright!

Have you guys attempted contacting him? I think his mind would be blown joining our community. Especially if he knew about all the other games back onlinepcwzrd13 wrote:Yeah Shu emailed me about this a month or so ago. Seems very promising. Seems he's aware of dreampi based on some of his notes I read so he may well be interested in joining up or at least contributing to some extent.Xiden wrote:Have you guys attempted contacting him? Re: Someone is restoring Gundam VS Online
I built the GDXSV server last night and it builds without issue. I'll be testing Federation vs Zeon & DX on real RAS hardware this week between two physical Dreamcasts. I'll post results when available.

Wonder if the other capcom online gmes in Japan, like most of their fighters and powerstone 2 and stuff use similar networking to this game.
