Only the Raspberry Pi shows up in my router, but not the Dreamcast for port forwarding

Post by Deathjay »

I’ve set up my Dreampi (latest version) with my Dreamcast and successfully connected to the web browser and Quake 3 Arena. However, I’m running into an issue: only the Raspberry Pi/Dreampi appears in my router’s interface, not the Dreamcast, which prevents setting up port forwarding or DMZ.
I removed the Dreampi from the router, reconnected it with a static IP set to .99 and manually assigned the Dreamcast’s IP with DMZ. After connecting, the Dreampi’s IP shifts to .98, takes over the DMZ, and I get disconnected from AFO lobbies.

It seems the router might be confusing the Dreampi and Dreamcast as one device.

Edit: I learned it’s normal for the Dreamcast not to show up in the router interface. Still, the Dreampi continues to override the Dreamcast’s IP and DMZ settings. I’ve tried resetting both the router and Dreampi, configuring static IPs for both in the router and Dreampi’s script, and tested connections over ethernet and WiFi. Initially, the Dreampi keeps the assigned IP, but when I start a game, it switches to the Dreamcast’s IP and claims the DMZ.

Another edit: If you’re facing similar issues with port forwarding or DMZ, check if you’re on a DS-Lite (Dual Stack Lite) connection. You may need to request an IPv4 address from your ISP. Has anyone else dealt with the Dreampi IP conflict and found a fix?
