Sonic Adventure 2 not working

Hello,
I've had my dreamcast for a year or two, and for some reason, sonic adventure 2 won't load. After doing some research, the first disc I got was too scratched to work. The second disc I got was perfectly fine, but for some reason my dreamcast thinks its an audio cd half the time. It flickers back and forth just enough to boot me out right after the SEGA screen. Any suggestions on what to do?

I've had that issues with burned CDs. Usually, I just power cycle or open/close the disc tray until the Dreamcast acknowledges it as a game. Is the disc/laser clean of fingerprints/dust?

you can clean your gdrom laser lens.
Else you can adjust your laser lens, but it's not so easy, be very cautious :
