disk problem

Hi all!

I just recently got myself a dreamcast. It plays all my games, some new, some old and scratched.
However it refuses to launch a new (and sealed) version of a game (Heavy Metal Geomatrix). As it happends a friend had another (sealed) version. Same problem, wont launch. (Sometimes it also seems to reset the sega's date?)

You guys think it is worth it to try and fix? Or am I (who's like totaly not skilfull) more likely to damage it?
