Start game, dreamcast logo shows up, goes back to main menu

i just got a used dreamcast in the mail today and burned soul calibur onto a CDR. i put the game in the system and when i click play game, the dreamcast logo comes up, but then it just takes me back to the main menu. some people said it could be a laser issue, but i’m not sure. Anyone have any suggestions?

Pop in an audio cd does it play that .. etc might be a bad burn of the game.. if it plays the audio cd you know the laser is working

I agree with Ian. Let us know if the audio CD works.
