As you know, I am working on a portable DreamCast project.
Up to a couple of hours ago, all was working fine, however now, when I turn on the system, I get past the boot "Dreamcast logo", swirl, etc, however, whilst the disc still is spinning, the system goes into the system menu and not the game.
What causes this? May have been a short, however asking in case anyone has ideas, and how to remedy the issue short of getting a new console and starting again...
Urgent help please!

Maybe laser calibration is not well.
Have you tried a CD-R game instead of an original to see if something changes?

Didn't recognise a CDR, disc stopped, then system menu. On an original disc, disc does not stop and keeps running, although on system menu.
I'm running out of ideas!

Re: Urgent help please!
Well, what I did to one of the Dreamcasts was to take my broken Dreamcast's laser out and swap it with the other Dreamcast. I hope you have a second spare DCl Also, since you modded it, make sure it is spinning freely if you haven't done so already.
