Re: VMU archiving project
Hi Streeker,
First of all: thank you. This is an amzing project with an amazing UI.
I have some additions:
Rayman 2 VMU DLC
Rayman 2: The Great Escape has three bonus levels that were previously made available from the Rayman 2 website (http://www.rayman2dc.com) after downloading certain VMU files from the in-game web browser. You had to download these files to your VMU and then load them from the main menu, similarly to regular save game data. Once loaded, the bonus level will immediately load.
RAYMAN_2.LIF - Platformer mini game
RAYMAN_2.MEN - Menezis - The Full Text Mini Shoot'em Up
RAYMAN_2.SPA - Circular based overhead shooter mini game
Climax Landers Pre-release VMU games
In Japan, a special disc was made and sent to shops so people could bring their VMU and download VMU minigames prior to the release of Climax Landers. Here you can find info on this disc along with a download ot the VMU files:
https://dcemulation.org/dumpcast/viewto ... 4595#p4595
VMU files:
Tsuyaku IV - real time RPG which goes through a randomly generated 3D dungeon
What Yogurt - observe the cute mysterious mascot character, Yogurt's ecology.
Dot Editor - Three kinds. Please be aware that only one game can be downloaded per VMU.
DLC / Utilities / Whatever you want to call it
Maybe these could be added?
https://dreamcastlive.net/dlc/
Also, I think it would be nice to list all of the files (incl. title and game) in the utility on the readme file of the download.
Cheers

Re: VMU archiving project
Thanks for contributing. However, this project is not about Dreamcast DLC in general. Its focus lies on VMU minigames/executables only.Blai wrote: I have some additions:

This might be the right thread for surfacing all the other DLC instead: https://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/vi ... 54&t=10189
These are already present. Have a look at the first post of this thread:Blai wrote: Climax Landers Pre-release VMU games

What Yogurt --> Time Stalkers [jap.]: Yogurt's Big Adventure: What Yogurt / Yogurt Mansion
Dot Editor --> Time Stalkers [jap.]: Rich Life Collection: Climax Editor #1 / Phone Directory / Fortune Teller
The first post of this thread already offers a list of everything that is included in the VMU ARCHIVE. That is... everything except the files that are still missing ("NFL 2K1 VMUv" and "World Series Baseball 2K1 VMUv") or that are simply not standalone minigames ("Quake III Maze (Final Challenge)" and "Sonic Adventure 1: Chao Puzzle").Blai wrote: Also, I think it would be nice to list all of the files (incl. title and game) in the utility on the readme file of the download.

You should be able to view the section now that your first official post has been approved.willssweetescape wrote:This might be a dumb question, but where in the world is the Downloads section?

I'm glad this stuff has been archived. Have all of the Shenmue Passport Goodies been found?
