Nexus parallel cable to USB mod - does it exist?

I came across my old nexus 4 x memory card and it got me thinking about modding the parallel cable to work on USB.

I can't see that if anyone has been able to do this and if they have, I can't find it in here but I could be wrong.

There's parallel to USB adapters out there but that just seems like a pretty clunky solution if there's another way around it. I can't find what the pinout on the memory card is to be able to see how it could be possible and I'm not currently willing to hack up my nexus cable until I can get a bit more info on this first of all.

So has anyone done this or are we at the point in time where shuffling saves about via Dreamshell is the best option and the juice isn't worth the squeeze when it comes to modding a cable?
