Can run from 15 fps to 60fps

Will work on demul redream nulldc and hardware.. it will not work on flycast or reicast download the selfboot cdi and run it on gdemu or an emulator

This is version 1 alpha sync is good sound is good picture quailty is hardware filtered unlike all the other software video players all the sdk and katana and wince are software..

Tried it on original Simpson's AVI - black screen.
Converted to 320 x 240, under demul got video, NO audio.
Audio is set to MP3, mono, 44.1k sample, 96k bitrate, like the sample movie.
Have not tried the CDI on Dreamcast GDEMU yet.
The sample movie works properly under demul.

You Have to use Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate I can encode any video to work etc Must be Xvid with mp3 or it will not work
Have to chose Xvid with mp3 audio Not AC3 and not Mp3 lame codec as that is not going to work hence ffmpeg encoder will have no sound

Mp3 Lame which ffmpeg used is not a compatible mp3 codec it breaks strict standards and is slow

I can encoded the simpsons esp and post it soon


Most encoders use mp3 lame codec which does not work Xilisoft does not use lame codec for mp3 encoding

Lame encoding which most video encoders now use has code that any mp3 codec ported to dreamcast cant use Mp3 lib in kos for example my dreambee mp3 player etc
Hence why i said you must use and You Have to use Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate
or you will get no sound at all

Much older ffmpeg never used the horrible lame mp3 codec but it's now default and does not even stick to the mp3 standard hence why no sound not really a proper mp3..

Unlike a pc or vast machine the mp3 audio codec i ported sticks to the strict mp3 pro standard. So can be optimized with fixed point maths for an embedded system

I was using a very old version of Freemake and it does use LAME. Is that a trial version on the Xilisoft webpage? Handbrake won't work?

Yes kos Full pvr hardware Accelerated Xvid and hardware filtering so not the normal thing you see on the others..

Blocky pixelated mess you see on other player is a lot due to software rendering and software filtering

You get bi filter for free using pvr hardware Accelerated

Cut down versions base on my upgraded DCMC using pvr hardware gpu for rendering

Still have a lot work to do but it's getting there mate I work on it on and off profile and optimize it .. In time it be back in DCMC and you can just select any movie to play you want etc on Gdemu you can have 1.8gb mdf file so many movies on one image at good quality past vcd..

And legal and homebrew.. etc but still working on but it's lot better then it ever has been etc..

Trial version only allows 3 mins of video but yes it's on there page full version costs money

problem is i have older version about 1 year old i hope they dont start using lame encoder for mp3 or it will be useless for me..

If you can find a video encoder that does not use lame as the mp3 audio it should work i just never found any ..

they all use the broken lame encoder for mp3..

Almost every encoder out there uses FFMPEG to do the work which uses lame encoder for mp3 fine for a pc not find for dreamcast

What I found is your movie did in fact use LAME, but an earlier version.
Yours: LAME v3.97 MINE: v3.99
Yours: Lavf v51.12.1 MINE: v54.63.104
I installed the Xilisoft software and got it to work with your XVID player (CDI, tested using demul).
Maybe we can find an older open-sourced converter program that uses older library writers and codecs?

I know lame any version does not work on mp3 lib that comes with kos I have to use blade mp3 encoder
