I've never seen that before - it's amazing the Renderware engine was brilliant but don't think it suited the DC can't recall any games using - maybe Trickstyle? But I might be wrong about that.

Renderware ran like crap on the dc. Super low poly scenes, basically no draw distance, erratic framerate but mostly targets 30 fps. If gta 3 was going to use renderware 3 it was in for a bad time for sure. Just look at renderware 3 games like dave mirra bmx and deep fighter.
Also puyo pop fever uses renderware on other platform not dreamcast. Heck on the gamecube fever has 3d graphics!. Dreamcast is its own sega engine.

q3arena supports all sixteen buttons and six analog axes, each button and axis has its own image
I also have a special patched version that includes support for a mouse with five buttons

It isn't even a start. That video is fake. Read these directly from the developer. Doesnt even sound like it went into production for dc, just a test bed then green lit for production on ps2.
Sam (Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games) was always keen to see the Grand Theft Auto series move to 3D, but there wasn't a plan as much as a desire. The original team (who'd worked on GTA and GTA 2) had tried pushing the camera behind the car a little in some tests for GTA 2, but there were a few of us who were really excited by the possibilities of freely modeling a world that would stream in as needed and moving the camera right into it. We did some prototypes on the Dreamcast, and through that, got the greenlight to start GTA 3. So as the original team finished GTA 2, we formed a new team around the development of GTA 3."

I agree with both of you. The Renderware PC GT2/3 demo video is real - Dreamcast GT3 video is fake
