Dreamcast HKT-7400 Foot pedals???

Post by killer-elite »

I found this page with information about modding the Dreamcast Racing Controller for use of third party foot pedals. I checked the search functioning and didn't see any posts mentioning it and I'm not that savvy with modding things so I figured I would pass the information along to someone with more knowledge who can shed light if this is possible or not...

Here's the post from a message board that couldn't get google translate to decode the text (circa 2014)

Here's the actual page on what the person modded to get a madkatz pedal set to work with the Dreamcast racing controller extension port...

UPDATE I found the guys page that looks like he last updated it in 2012 it lists his email information maybe it can be used to ask him questions about the mod...

Looking at the translation it seems like he just wired the pedals to the analog buttons on the wheel.

Nice, sucks that it wasn't wired to accept 3rd party wheels from the start. Maybe some third party accessory maker could make compatible foot pedals now that they are making decent 3rd party controllers. Fingers crossed, until then some brave guy in 2000 made it happen, hats off to him. Its wild what people can accomplish off of a little know how and soldering skills.
