Hello, hello!

Hey, I'm Lila! I've been a Dreamcast fan since... I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure I picked up emulating it back in 2012, but I didn't actually have a Dreamcast itself until 2014. That was when I got my first job, and with my very first paycheck, I got on my bike, headed off to the local retro games store, and picked up a DC for $60. Lucky me, it was a VA1, so when I learned about modifications, that was easy on me. It's the same machine I currently have booted right now, and I wub it dearly. I think I've had this account on this forum for a couple of years or so, but I never got around to actually posting in it! So, I figured I'd drop in and try and make some dreamcast playing friends!

Specifically, I have a VA1 with a GDemu clone that I think has it out for PSO and Ooga Booga, I have swapped out the controller board with one with removable fuse and battery ports since the old one lost functionality in player 2, and my most commonly used display for it is a 2002 View & View Aquview 9LS. I have no idea how it compares to more mainline CRT computer monitors, but it plays DC games far more beautifully than my 2006 720p Westingburg ever could. Obviously, through VGA. It looks 5x better than putting the DC through composite. I, also, of course, have a Dream Pi, using a Raspberry Pi 3B. For a while, it stopped working and I took advantage of the developements using Linux VMs, but I found out that it was just the Mirco SD was corrupted, so that's working again.

The game with the most hours on it for me is probably Power Stone 2, since it is the go to whenever I have a gathering of people. No matter who it is, everyone can have a good time with Power Stone 2. In terms of online games, I enjoy PSO, though it tends to freeze up on me in certain missions, AlienFront Online, Chu Chu Rocket, and I'd like to start getting more into the racing games.

In terms of mods, a part of me wants to get the DCDigital board. While the Aquaview 9LS is great for when I'm just playing by myself, 4 people crowding around a 4" monitor is not ideal, and the only one of my HD displays that accepts VGA input is a paltry 26 inches. If I want to use the 50", I have to do composite, so being able to output in clean HD 960P would be good for gatherings. I also want to swap out my PSU, as I'm fairly certain it's dying, though I keep finding conflicting information on what exactly I should be replacing it with, as I don't want to damage my DC with a faulty 3rd party PSU.

I think I've rambled on enough for now, so I hope to speak to you all!

I've been online here and there. HOping to be more consistent with it these days, though! Wish there was more Saturday stuff though, lol.
