We need someone to make DC lightgun mod for flatscreen tv's

We need someone to make a mod to get DC lightguns to work on modern flatscreens. Folks use wii remotes with sensor bars on pc to play gun games. Is it possible to get a sensor bar working on DC? CRT screens are getting hard to find. So we need a way to continue to use DC lightguns.

Looks like this guy has it figured out and even posts his github on how to make the mod. If someone wants to make this mod or somehow make it better than this guy I would be interested in buying it.

Also i have that mod on that bottom.video its called a lightgunverter. The creator has been on a hiatus unfortunately after releasing the first batcg of devices. He wants to make more after chip shortage.

I see the lightconn uses the japanese gun. Has anyone gotten the usa guns serviced before?

I received my pack of two sinden lightguns recently.
They use built-in video cams to calculate the pointer on the screen.
I'm using them with a Raspberry Pi 4 (using a powered USB hub).
I flashed it with some pre-loaded BareBones image which is already pre-configured and loaded with roms.
But it works very well on multiple TVs (as long as you can live with a white border around the screen).
I've played a lot of Hotd2 and duck hunt and the recoil makes it really fun.
The only downside of the whole RetroPie thing is that the Pi4 just doesn't have enough juice to run most Dreamcast and Naomi games really fluid.
Even when overclocked you can see it struggle a bit especially when playing Confidential Mission which is my favorite 2-player lightgun game.

That's why I'm thinking of buying some cheap mini-PC in the future when they start featuring these AMD Ryzen zen3+ APU's with RDNA2 graphics.

Lightconn are 215 euros each. I would want two. So I have to decide if I really wanna make that investment.

Sinden guns are very attractive. I have a pi 3b so I'm in same boat as you. Gotta use a PC with emulation. The upside of that is the gun works across all other emulators so more games to utilize it

Holy hell these options are expensive. As much as I love the Dreamcast, I think I'll stick to the mouse for light gun games, and play the ones I can on Wii.

You can buy at least 10 quality crts for 430 euros, plus a proper rgb cable from retrogamingcables which will provide stellar image. At that price the trade off isn’t worth it, just saying

For Raspberry Pi you can use a remote controller called "Air mouse" or "Aim track" as a light gun

Yeah I wanted something like this but I think I may just use Wii/WiiU for lightgun games my CRT upstairs doesn't seem to work well with the light guns anymore either.
