Will be some day a way to save high scores?

Hi, I'm enjoying so much the atomiswave ports, is amazing how fantastic these conversion works.

I'm playing Maximum Speed right now, and I'm one of these high scores addicts. But when I turn off my Dreamcast, my scores are gone... I know it will be difficult and probably a requirement is a dedicated vmu for the game, but I have no problem in buying a vmu (they are still very cheap) just to be more and more faster in games like Maximum Speed. I'm sure a lot of people think like me and they don't say it, and usually you have a few vmu's. One day this feature will be available?
