Sorry if this has been asked before but just looking for a fresh perspective since it has been a few years since Yabause.
I know the Dreamcast has limited Memory but is the CPU/GPU not capable?
Could an alternative Virtual Pagefile not be used via SD Card?
Maybe some sort of Backwards Compatability between CPU side atleast I know Saturn has x2 SH2 but Dreamcast SH4 @ 200MHz is there some sort of Compatability? Even 32X Support?
An Emulator per Game rather than an All in One Emulator etc? Is anyone working on such a thing?
I bought a Dreamcast with RetroDream SATA MOD HDD and Dreamshell SD Card v2 and GDEMU Combo.
My old Saturn Crashes on Main Menu Randomly and just wondering about getting Saturn on Dreamcast.

Re: Sega Saturn on Dreamcast
I want to know the same. The Bleem creator was a genius, even Sony can't replicate his job back in the day for their own consoles... Maybe is possible for Saturn, but probably in a long long future... Better get a Saturn... They are still a little cheap...

Re: Sega Saturn on Dreamcast
Standalone Mednafen or the Beetle Saturn core in Retroarch (they're basically the same thing but I think standalone is slightly further on) is very good for Saturn emulation. There's no resolution scaling (useless on 2D games anyway!) but it's very stable and while it's far from perfect it's accurate enough. No need for a beefy pc either, both run fine on my i3-6100 with a GT 1030 (which also runs DC, PS1, PS2, some PS3, some XB360, Gamecube, Wii...)

Re: Sega Saturn on Dreamcast
Current saturn emulation on dc runs at 3fps max 200mhz cpu is never going to emulate a multi cpu console with exact timing between the main and slave at any speed Saturn is big end DC is little..sunnshine wrote:Standalone Mednafen or the Beetle Saturn core in Retroarch (they're basically the same thing but I think standalone is slightly further on) is very good for Saturn emulation. It's impossible at any play-able speed ..

Re: Sega Saturn on Dreamcast
An actual Saturn console + Pseudo Saturn Kai cart is pretty relatively cheap as far as retro gaming stuff goes, then burn a bunch of CD-Rs. That's the option I went with last year.
btw, nice username.
