Hello all,
The other day I had an inkling to play Nightmare Creatures 2 on my dc. I know that is a bad inkling to have, well I bought the game when I first started collecting and never really tried it. Well other then the obligatory test to make sure it works run. Funny thing is this time when I tried it, I could not see a damn thing. I walked to a water portion and for the life of me could not see where the ground ended and the water began. I messed with all the picture and brightness settings on my tv to no avail. I am running a dc on composite on that tv and tried the other room DC which has an HDMI cable, but that game does not run off of HDMI so I am stuck with DC one.
Does any one else have any issues with brightness on modern tvs or is this game just known for being impossible to see?
Thanks for any and all replies!

Re: DC Game Brightness on modern tvs
I have tried my dc on a modern tv years ago, but went back to a crt for those exact reasons: brightness, contrast, colours not really popping & off course lag. Also stuff like smoke & fog usually looks bad on a modern screen imho

I use a hanzo vga box which has a brightness boost/adjust that works well on my ancient bravia. It's not as bright as a crt, but I've never run into any visibility issues. Not sure the hanzo is made anymore, but it's not a bad box, despite what the internet has to say about behar bros.

and depending on where you live you can get even more out of your crt, depending on what video cable you use

Re: DC Game Brightness on modern tvs
If you live in PAL region or Japan you almost always have a tv that does RGB natively, whereas if you live in the USA you’re stuck with composite & svideo at best, unless you mod your tv for RGB (RGB being the best signal out of the 3)RobisMarshall wrote:What do you mean where I live lolmazonemayu wrote:told yaRobisMarshall wrote:got my hands on a crt and yes that was the issue, game looks fine on crt![]()

The top half of the picture is RGB, the bottom half is composite to give you an idea of the difference

I think you mean the other way around.mazonemayu wrote:If you live in PAL region or Japan you almost always have a tv that does RGB natively, whereas if you live in the USA you’re stuck with composite & svideo at best, unless you mod your tv for RGB (RGB being the best signal out of the 3)RobisMarshall wrote:What do you mean where I live lolmazonemayu wrote:

Top = RGB
Bottom = composite
