All right, I managed to play Gotham Knight. It seems not having the VMU installed or installing a different one doesn't conflict with the game starting. Definitely I have some file on it that messes the BOR game.

The "Batman Returns" games is a different matter and not using a VMU causes permanent lock up.
But when using a VMU, and after going again to black screen, it's still possible to launch the emulator options screen by using left analog pad. And it's possible to load from disc other SNES roms that boot.
The emulator seems to be working and has not crashed.

Edit: I just saw Ian's explanation above.

Thanks Ian for your help ;)

What I'm surprised is that Scott didn't encounter any problems in the tests ?

If he had to modify the settings he would have told me and we would have added these settings for the proper functioning of the game

Great collection!

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues booting either US or EU version of the Genesis Batman?

Tried a couple of discs now and it still crashes on both versions at the very start when the batman logo is on screen. Happens if you let it run or when you press start on the controller. I'm on a PAL console, tried it with a VMU and without but same happens. If anyone can try the games and let me know if they boot fine and it's something on my side.
