Old CD-R dead

Hi,
I have just come back to dreamcast and its great games. Most of CD-r from 2000 have become unreadable by my DC. Is it still possible to find burnable roms in 2024 please ? There are n ow lot of gdi and the cdi I have found didn't work :/

I'd say it's a fair chance the problem is a dying laser. There's plenty of working cdis to to try on this forum.

In my experience, I've had to tune the potentiometer on the Dreamcast. I have a working gdrom drive again. Well on one gdrom drive I did that but then I replaced it with a gdemu on the other dreamcast. You should follow this guide on how to tune the potentiometer on your sega dreamcast. It's not too hard.
