Dreamcast box Vers. 601-10221x

Post by DavidCoq »

I intend to produce these types of supports since they have become difficult to find, especially in good condition. I have already contacted a company that produces these types of supports and they are available to produce them. During my research, I came across three different revisions of the item: 601-10221, 601-10221A, and 601-10221B. From what I have gathered, the first version refers to JAP consoles, the second to NTSC, and the third to PAL.

I have a few questions:
  1. Could you confirm or refute what I have just hypothesized?
  2. Would you be interested in purchasing this container and, if so, which version would you choose?

I bought two new Dreamcasts and they came with differences. The first Dreamcast came with two stands, a cardboard stand that fit into the back and a plastic-coated foam stand that fit into the front of the Dreamcast. I no longer have these supports. The second one came with this cardboard support like the one in your photo.

I'd like to vote for 601-10221A but honestly 601-10221B might be more useful since there are folks making excellent PAL reproduction boxes but I haven't seen any new NTSC boxes yet

Thank you for your interest.
I am waiting for the company to reopen to finalize some details. I was hoping to announce the project on September 9th 2024, but at this point, it will be discussed again at the end of the year or the beginning of the new year.
