1 to 1 copies of Dreamcast games

Is it possible to make 1 to 1 copies of Dreamcast games? How do you convert GDI files to CDI so you can burn them to cd? I have games in GDI format but don't know how to convert GDI to CDI.

It's important to understand that a GDI is a complete copy/back-up of a Dreamcast GD-ROM disc. Meaning if you want to convert this to a working .CDI for burning that you will be facing a couple of challenges;

- A lot of games feature copy protections, so when converting from GDI to CDI you'll have to hack them.
- Some games are bigger than what fits on a CD-R, meaning you'll have to downsize/downsample some of its data.

So long story short, if you like to fiddle and understand the inner workings of the Dreamcast then this is can be a nice quest. If however you simply want to run game X or Y on your Dreamcast its better to directly search for a CDI instead.

I have cdr media that is 100min or 900mb would that work for the CDI images? Aren't some CDI images oversized so you have to have the burner overburn the cdr media?

There's only a few of those, and the CDIs that are not chunky that fit standard CD-Rs you should use those
