firmware on the RetroScaler BlueRetro?

Has anyone had any luck flashing this with the tools on the vendors github? It just says it cant find the serial port, but it only gives me the autodetect option. Ive tried multiple c9mputers and USB cables. I even tried it on Linux with Wine.

I flash things like this using the https://github.com/marcelstoer/nodemcu-pyflasher app in linux.
