I haven’t got an emulator to try it on .
Long story short, the laptop I borrowed to do this has shat itself and I’m a Mac user so I’m thinking the universe doesn’t want me to play this just yet …

Re: GTA 3 Port by SKMP
It didn't occur to me that I could use an emulator for the Mac, but thankfully I managed to get it going, turns out that the GDMENU Card Manager has Mac support and this has allowed me now to boot the game and play. Thanks all!

Re: GTA 3 Port by SKMP
I was able to successfully burn the game to a CD-R, and with my last blank CD-R no less!
If you told me this was a retail release from circa 2000/2001, I would have believed you. There's some minor stuttering when the game is loading from the CD, but it's not too bad. Looking forward to playing more this week.
If anyone needs help burning the game to a CD-R, feel free to shoot me a PM. Initially, I was intimidated by the instructions, but it turned out to be fairly straightforward. I recommend following the instructions on the gitlab website - https://gitlab.com/skmp/dca3-game#baking-the-cdi- as opposed to the DCA3 website. There was one critical step missing in the DCA3 website instructions.
Also, shout out to all the devs who made this possible! I still can't believe I'm playing this on my Dreamcast. A lot of love clearly went into this port.

On the home stretch the CDI build I got the d4_gta.APM error because a naughty d4_gta.mp3
Apparently can replace with any but I scoured a bunch of archive.orgs and snagged one out of some GTA3 ISO and perfection it got made!

Re: GTA 3 Port by SKMP
read this ---> https://gitlab.com/skmp/dca3-game#baking-the-cdi
Near the bottom of the page about building the .cdi it says that Linux is 700mb and Windows is the 260MB number. It just must be how the 2 operating systems compile. Maybe fluff, who knows. But the 2 vastly different numbers are expected.

Re: GTA 3 Port by SKMP
Just looked at the makefile - make burnable cdi = yes, pad file is created by mkdcdisc, so 700mb. No pad file if cdi4dc is first found and used, so 270mb.
Make burnable cdi = no, create 900mb cdi suitable for gdemu.

Re: GTA 3 Port by SKMP
Finally got it working! I was getting a black screen after booting. Cable detect setting was off on my retrogem. Hope this helps someone who is having the same issues. Thanks for the kind person who DM'd me a CDI.
